Kendrick Lamar Inducts N.W.A Into The Hall of Fame
LAST NIGHT KENDRICK LAMAR INDUCTED N.W.A. INTO THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME.
28 years after the release of their legendary debut album Straight Outta Compton, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, DJ Yella, MC Ren, and the late Eazy-E were finally honored during a special Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Fellow West Coast rapper Kendrick Lamar had the special duty of inducting N.W.A. into the Hall of Fame and paid tribute to the group for the influence they had on him and the culture as a whole.
“To be clear, to be very clear, the fact that a famous group can look just like one of us and dress like one of us, talk like one of us, proved to every single kid in the ghetto that you can be successful and still have importance while doing it,” he said.
During their own speeches, N.W.A. took time to fire back at Gene Simmons who recently said that he’s looking forward to the death of rap music and were joined by Eazy-E’s mother, Kathie Wright.
